If you’ve ever dreamed of standing on a snow-covered mountain with the world’s tallest peaks all around you, Island Peak(Imja Tse) is your chance to make that dream come true. Located in the Everest region of Nepal, Island Peak stands at 6,189 meters (20,305 ft). It's a perfect choice for beginners in high-altitude climbing and for trekkers who want to take the next big step beyond trekking. It’s challenging, but not impossible, and with the right guidance, you can reach the top. What Is Island Peak? Island Peak got its name from early climbers who thought it looked like an island rising out of a sea of ice. It’s surrounded by giant peaks like Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and even Mount Everest is not far away. Climbing Island Peak gives you a 360-degree view of the Himalayas that feels unreal. What’s the Climb Like? The climb is a mix of trekking and mountaineering. You start your journey from Lukla, the famous gateway to Everest. Then you walk through Sherpa villages, rhododrendon forests, and glacier valleys, passing places like Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche. Along the way, you’ll see how mountain life really is—simple, warm, and full of heart. After reaching Island Peak Base Camp, the real climb begins. You’ll use basic mountaineering gear like crampons, ropes, and an ice axe for the final push. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a technical expert. Our guides will teach you everything you need to know. Most people reach the summit early in the morning. Standing at the top, watching the sun rise over Everest and the other peaks, it’s a moment you’ll carry forever. Best Time to Climb Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best times. The skies are clear, the weather is stable, and the views? Absolutely amazing. How Long Does It Take? The whole trip takes about 16 to 20 days, depending on your pace and itinerary. You’ll also visit places like Everest Base Camp or Kalapatthar if you want to combine the trek with something extra. Who Can Do It? If you’re physically fit, used to trekking, and have strong willpower, you can do this. Previous climbing experience helps, but it’s not a must. Some training and preparation before the trip is highly recommended. What’s Included in the Trip? ✔️ Airport pickups and hotel stays in Kathmandu ✔️ All domestic flights (Kathmandu–Lukla–Kathmandu) ✔️ Trekking and climbing permits ✔️ All meals during the trek and climb ✔️ Experienced climbing guides and Sherpa support ✔️ Group equipment (ropes, tents, etc.) ✔️ Safety equipment and first aid You just need to bring your personal gear and that adventurous spirit!
