The Houbolt Road Extension is a privately financed 1.5-mile infrastructure project in Joliet, Illinois, featuring a new toll bridge over the Des Plaines River. Developed by Houbolt Road Extension JV, LLC—a partnership between United Bridge Partners and CenterPoint Properties—the extension provides a direct connection between I-80 and the CenterPoint Intermodal Center, the nation's largest inland port. This project aims to reduce local traffic congestion, enhance freight efficiency, and promote economic growth in Will County.
