Topic Selection is therefore a process of matching ones research goal with areas that are relevant to the academic world and business world at the time when the research will be conducted. First, one should decide on the tentative research Topic Selection within the sphere that is interesting and important for further investigation due to existing gaps in knowledge or socially relevant problems. Reflect on the works published in the last five years, discuss with practitioners and finalise on possible use of the work. Focus on areas of interest that should also lie within your area of competency and/or that present new ways/avenues for contribution to the subject area. Consult with your tutors and other students to polish your concepts, to make sure that your approaching subject is viable and interesting enough for you to focus on during your doctorate.
