A varicocele occurs when the veins inside the scrotum, known as the pampiniform plexus, become dilated and swollen. It leads to several symptoms, such as pain and heaviness of the scrotum, and even infertility in a few cases. In fact, it is said that one of the principal causes of male infertility is the presence of varicocele. It causes the testicles to rise in temperature as they are sensitive to temperature variations; hence, the normal functioning and production of sperm are disturbed. Untreated varicoceles can, over time, damage sperm quality and quantity, making it challenging for a man to get a child.
Traditionally, surgical interventions such as varicocelectomy, which cuts and ligates the veins involved, have been used to treat varicocele. However, surgery does not have a monopoly on remedies. Many of these men, therefore, opt for alternative solutions that do not pose the hazards and recovery of surgery. Gentle, varicocele natural remedies, like homeopathy, are in vogue nowadays for treating varicocele.
