An ET tube, or endotracheal tube, is defined as a medical device established to maintain the airway in a patient provided with breathing assistance. The cuffed endotracheal tube is an example of ET tubes, designed with an inflatable cuff located distally near the tip. Thus, a cuffed ET tube facilitates the formation of a seal in the trachea, preventing air leaks and reducing fluid aspiration into the lungs. Endotracheal tubes cuffed are applied widely in surgeries, critical care, and emergency situations as a means of ventilating patients. The ET tube cuffed design is adapted for the stabilization of oxygen levels, including adult patients undergoing long-term mechanical ventilation. Use is generally in intensive care units (ICU) and theatres where careful management of the airway is required. The Endotracheal Tube Cuff is soft, flexible, medical-grade material designed for patient comfort and manufactured from medical-grade materials. It also has a relatively smooth surface for easy insertion and clear markings for accurate positioning.
